The composition of the wellhead assembly
A. Casing head part
The casing head is installed at the lower end of the wellhead device, which is the part connecting the casing and various wellhead devices. It consists of a body, a casing hanger and a sealing assembly.
The casing head is used to support the gravity of the technical casing and reservoir casing, sealing the annular space between each casing, and providing a filter connection for the installation of the blowout preventer, tubing head, and tree upper wellhead. The surface casing is connected with the lower flange of the casing head by a flange, and the oil layer casing is connected with the internal thread of the casing head by a wire buckle.
B. Tubing head section
The tubing head is mounted above the casing head and comprises a tubing head four-way, a tubing hanger and a sealing assembly. The purpose of the tubing hanger is to hang the tubing string in the well and seal the annular space between the tubing and the casing, The purpose of the tubing four-way is to carry out positive and reverse circulation cleanout, observe casing pressure, and perform various operations through the annular space of the oil and casing.
C. The tree part
The tree is installed in the above part of the tubing head, Which is composed of gate valve, throttle valve, tee/ four-way, flange, tree cap, etc. Its function is to control and regulate the production of the well, guide the oil or gas ejected from the well into the pipeline, and realize the installation and removal of downhole tools and equipment.

Classification of wellhead devices:
According to the structure, it can be divided into integral type and split type wellhead device. According to different drilling procedures, it can be divided into single-stage, bipolar, multi-stage, single-pipe and multi-pipe wellheads.

Function of a Christmas Tree:
On producing wells, injecting chemicals or alcohols or oil distillates to prevent and or solve production problems (such as blockages).
Controlling the injection of gas or water on a producing or non-producing well to sustain economic “production” volumes of gas from other wells in the area (in the field).
The control system attached to the tree controls the downhole safety valve (surface controlled subsurface safety valves, downhole safety valve or subsurface safety valve) while the tree acts as an attachment and conduit means for the control system to the downhole safety valve.
